My argument would be for the UN's role to protect human rights to supersede the sovereignty of the state, since human come first then the state second. For instance if all the citizens of a given state were to perish then there would be no states and countries are imaginary given that the borders in reality are non existent except on the political and geographical maps.Given the current state of affairs in countries like Zimbabwe,so many similar human rights abuses have been committed in the name of the non interference in the sovereignty of the state.This is how the genocide was committed against the Jews in Germany, in Rwanda, in Darfur in Sudan and now in Zimbabwe.
