It is not morally acceptable to experiment on animals. Animals are also living things just like humans. We should accord to them the respect and treat them with consideration. If it is morally acceptable to experiment on animals, than what is wrong with experimenting on human beings? Why should animals be experimented on for human purposes? Isn't that just selfish of us as human beings?

animal testing is okay if its for the good! Like finding cures for cancer etc. - User:Stevielliddiatt

Morally unacceptable

It is morally unacceptable to use animals for human purposes if the procedures used cause any harm or stress to the animal in question. Invasive surgery...confinement...unnatural habitat are all unacceptable.

It depends on who you are

I guess it all depends on who you are. If you are a vegetarian, then I must agree with you that it is unacceptable. But if one eats meat, then one should not practice double standards, justifying it with instantaneous death vs prolonged agony. Personally, I believe that humans should be vegetarians, but I just love meat too much. So I can't moralize. — Ekompute 04:48, 15 June 2009 (CDT)

It's Wrong!

I may only be 13 years of a age, but I am entitled to an opinion and that opinion is that animal testing is unethical and inhumane. I believe there should be braver scientists out there who should test things on themselves. I know animal testing reduces the amount of human lives lost, but basing the use of animals in medicinal testing just because they are "inferior" to us, is highly unacceptable. Animals are an important part of the ecosystem and should be treated nicely and almost like equals to humans. For a piece of science homework, we have to research for a debate about the use of animal testing. My teacher had chosen me to talk about how animal testing is right but I strongly believe against it. I am not saying it's right to go out there and harm people who do believe in animal testing because I am a pacifist and NOT an activist. I am just a Year 8 student who can have his own opinion and I hope that my voice gets heard. If I can change the mind of at least three people then I believe that I have done something good in my life, even if I have done some bad things as well.
