IDEA projects with The People Speak
In October and November of 2009, The People Speak held a Global Debates competition, for which Debatepedia and IDEA developed a Global poverty portal and a pro/con resource for the topic: Debate: Developed countries have a higher obligation to combat climate change.
In March of 2009, Debatepedia developed content on the following Global Debates topic: Developed countries have a higher obligation to combat climate change.
IDEA and Debatepedia created a Global climate change debate portal that includes 20 highly developed pro/con debate articles on proposed solutions to global warming (ie. wind, solar, tidal, geothermal, nuclear, algae biofuel, cap-and-trade, carbon tax...). The resource was created for the TPS Global Debate's October 2008 topic: "The world should adopt our plan to significantly combat climate change."
IDEA developed an extensive pro/con resource on Debatepedia for the TPS Global Debates March 2008 competition. The topic: Resolved: Water should be considered national property.
IDEA developed comprehensive resources for the TPS Global Debates October 2007 competition on the following topic: Resolved: Market mechanisms are preferable to regulatory approaches in reducing carbon emissions. IDEA developed a background section for this topic - Carbon Emissions: Market vs. Regulatory Approaches (Background). And, IDEA developed two primary debate articles on Debatepedia related to the topic:
