Debate: Ban on niqab on public transportation
From Debatepedia
[Edit] Background and contextThe niqab is a Muslim dress that covers the entirety of the female body, including the face, leaving only the eyes exposed. It is considered by some to be a security threat because it conceals an individual's identity. For this reason, in places such as France, governments are considering a ban on wearing the niqab and concealing the face on public transportation. This is driven in some part by the fact that many terrorist attacks have taken place on public transportation, and in some cases has involved women wearing the niqab.[1] |
