Debate: Boycott of 2008 Olympics in China
[Edit]
Supporting Evidence:
By boycotting the 2008 Olympics, athletes are suffering. Boycotting will not stop China's human rights abuses, but only develop hatred between China and other countries. By not participating in the Olympic games, athletes are deprived of winning medals and having their countries' pride. Athletes would suffer, not China.
Boycotting would be punishing athletes for something that is not their fault and depriving them their chance to compete over something that is completely beyond their control.
